Who is this article for?

Managers, owners, and team members who maintain the catalog

Use Catalog Items to create an item, then complete its relevant selling, stock and presentation setup on the detail page.

Create an Item

1
Open Catalog Items and choose Add Item.
2
Choose Stock Item, Menu Item or Service Item.
3
Enter the required Item Name and complete the cards relevant to that type.
4
Check locations, inventory units or variation prices where applicable. Optionally add an Item Image.
5
Choose Create Stock Item, Create Menu Item or Create Service Item.

Use stock for inventory-only items, menu for recipe-based selling and service for non-physical charges. To stock and sell the same item, add a stock item to a menu so it becomes hybrid.

Complete the Detail Page

Open the saved item. Available cards depend on its type:

  • Basic Information: name, status, description and tags.
  • Locations and eligible Tax Configuration: availability and compatible taxes.
  • Menu Assignments: menu placement and availability.
  • Menu Variations & Recipes: selling prices and recipes for menu and hybrid items.
  • Inventory Management: stock and history for stock or hybrid items.
  • Categories and Modifier Lists: organisation and customer choices for menu and hybrid items.
  • Item Image: upload, replace or remove the main image.

For stock and hybrid items, use Stock take Storage Areas to assign the places you want shown on new counts. This does not split live inventory into separate area balances.

Find Items

Use item-type tabs, search, status and location filters, and list or grid view. More actions provides Analytics, Batch Production and Bulk Operations.
