Managers and owners who build sellable, stocked items

Set up recipe ingredients on the item variation, then check the ingredient inventory and costs at the location where it will be sold or produced.

Open the Recipe Controls

1
Open the item from Catalog Items.
2
For a menu or hybrid item, open Menu Variations & Recipes. For stock setup, use Ingredients & Batch Production.
3
Choose the variation and its edit controls.
4
Add or update ingredients and amounts, review the units and sell price where applicable, then save.

You can also enter ingredients while creating an item. Each variation owns its recipe; do not assume an edit to one size updates every size.

Check Costing Inputs

Use the quantities actually required by the recipe. Check ingredient inventory units, location costs and availability before relying on the resulting cost or margin.

For an item-based modifier, its consumption quantity can add costs beyond the base recipe. For hybrid items, finished-goods inventory can be consumed directly on a sale; inspect the order's consumption breakdown to understand the path used.

Produce or Sell

Use Batch Production when a stock item should be produced from its ingredients. For a sellable item, confirm the variation price, menu availability and Modifier Lists before use.
