Who is this article for?

Anyone who wants a quick map of the current AI assistant use cases

Use Alex for product discovery and guided setup. Use Crunchy inside your organisation for operational questions, data analysis and supported changes.

Alex before signup

Open Get Crunch, choose Ask Alex, enter your venue name and postcode, then choose Open Alex.

Ask what to prepare for setup, how to organise a stock catalogue or what to consider before connecting Square. Public Alex can research public venue information and explain the product; it cannot read your private Crunch records or change your systems.

Alex during onboarding

Let Alex Set It Up opens the assistant-led onboarding path. Alex can help work through locations, catalogue imports, menus, recipes and setup progress. For changes prepared as onboarding drafts, open the draft in the onboarding workspace, review it and choose Approve & Apply when ready.

Use the onboarding guide for the full setup sequence.

Crunchy in the dashboard

Open AI to ask about the selected organisation. Supported work includes:

  • Inventory levels, stock takes and purchasing questions
  • Item, recipe and menu questions where your plan includes them
  • Profitability and stock-value analysis with BI Analysis
  • Reading available business data and carrying out supported operational tasks
  • Preparing downloadable CSV, spreadsheet and PDF exports

Available tools follow your plan, permissions and connected services. OPS supports its operations features; interactive Square queries and Full Crunch features remain restricted when they are not included.

Check a proposed change

Make the requested action explicit: for example, Show me low-stock items is different from Update this item. Review any confirmation or draft presented, then check the saved result in the relevant product page.

An answer or a proposed draft is not proof that a change has been saved. If Crunchy reports a failure, confirm the current record before repeating the action.
