Managers and owners who need customer choices to behave predictably

Set selection rules on the Modifier List to control how many options a customer can choose. Manage each option's availability separately.

Configure the Rules

1
Open the list, or choose Create Modifier List.
2
Turn on Required if a selection must be made.
3
Set Minimum Selections and Maximum Selections.
4
Review the Selection Rules summary and ensure enough modifiers are available to satisfy it.

Common patterns:

| Choice | Required | Minimum | Maximum | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Optional single upgrade | Off | 0 | 1 | | Exactly one size | On | 1 | 1 | | Up to three optional extras | Off | 0 | 3 | | One to three extras | On | 1 | 3 |

The maximum must be at least 1, the minimum must not be negative or exceed the maximum, and a required list needs a minimum greater than 0.

Check Availability

A list's selection rules and an option's availability are separate settings. Making one modifier unavailable does not automatically make the list optional.

Before attaching a required list to items, check that the list is active and has enough available options. Recheck this when disabling an option or changing auto-import rules.
