Review Inventory Consumption on a Sales Order
Use the order detail page to understand which stock items were consumed directly, through ingredients, or through item-based modifiers.
Who is this article for?
Open an order's Inventory Impact to review its stock usage and the lines or modifiers that caused it.
Open the Tracker
The panel can show a predicted impact before consumption. Imported historical orders can display Consumed because they are completed records, even though importing them does not reduce current stock. The badge alone is not proof of stock movement; check the item's inventory history for the order.
Review the Consumption Paths
- Direct: finished inventory used by stock-linked items such as hybrids.
- Ingredients: recipe components stored with the order.
- Modifiers: item-based options, including stored recipe ingredients where available.
Expand the rows to review the source line, ordered quantity, amount and COGS. The tracker aggregates usage by item and variation so the same ingredient can appear across more than one order line.
Check Incomplete Breakdowns
Some order snapshots do not contain a full recipe or reliable modifier quantity. The tracker can explain that the recipe breakdown is missing while still showing a cost figure. Do not interpret a missing quantity as zero consumption or invent an ingredient breakdown from the current recipe.
For an item-based modifier, a stored Amount Adjustment gives an explicit consumption amount. When it is omitted, a stock-linked option may use the item's default quantity.
Investigate Unexpected Usage
Check the order's location, sold variation, recipe quantities, modifier setup and inventory units. Use the saved order breakdown alongside the catalog configuration; later catalog changes may not describe exactly what was stored on an older order.
