Who is this article for?

Anyone creating manual sales orders in the dashboard

Create a manual Sales Order in the dashboard, review its items and validate it before saving. Order creation and completed inventory consumption are separate steps.

Create the Order

1
Open Sales Orders and choose + New Order.
2
Select the Location and add an optional Reference ID or Notes.
3
Under Line Items, choose Add First Item or Add Item.
4
Select the sellable item and variation, then check quantity and price.

Review Modifiers and Discounts

For an item with attached Modifier Lists, choose the applicable options and check required selections. Modifier prices contribute to the line calculation.

Use the line's discount controls where needed. The summary shows a discount preview; final taxes and discounts are calculated on the server.

Validate and Save

Review Order Summary and choose Validate. Resolve visible errors, including missing location or line items, then choose Create Order.

After creation, open the order to review its state and inventory-consumption status. Completing a margin-eligible order triggers consumption; a predicted or pending tracker is not proof stock has already moved.

Correct an Existing Order

The edit screen supports Reference ID and Notes, rather than line-item editing. Review state, consumption and the effect of cancellation or deletion before creating a replacement.

Review order states Edit, cancel or delete after creation Understand cost and gross profit
